Fishing was fair for December, not much wind and no rain. Two limits were caught.
Darrell Allen had 5 fish for 10.36 pounds and took first place. Darrell also had big fish of 3.84 pounds. Darrell caught his fish on a red rattle trap near Union Point. Clark Foster had 5 fish for 8.56 pounds and took second place. Clark was fishing Kellog Creek by Discovery bay and caught his fish on a red rattle trap. He may have a lot of company at the next Delta tournament. Bob Greneveld had 2 fish for 3.69 pounds and took third place. Bob was also fishing near Union Point and caught his fish on a Rattle Trap.
Of the 11 fishermen there was only 2 limits and 7 boats. Totals were 28.03 pounds, 15 bass with an average weight per man of 2.55 pounds and an average of 1.36 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.87 pounds.

This was our eleventh tournament of the year. Starting to get cold.
Not bad for this time of the year, not much wind and no rain. Water temperature
was about 67 degrees. Fishing was slow.
Javier Martinez had the only limit of 7.16 pounds for first place. Javier
was fishing at the all the way up Putah creek using a split shot worm.
Bill Zeigler had 2 fish for 4.01 pounds and took second place. Bill also
had big fish of 2.46 pounds. Clark Foster had 2 fish for 2.94 pounds and
took third place.
Of the 11 fishermen there was only 1 limit. Totals were 25.72 pounds, 16 bass with an average weight per man of 2.34 pounds and an average of 1.45 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.61 pounds.

This was our tenth toumament of the year. Nice weather up until about
8:30 AM, then a little breezy, gusts to about 50. Water temperature was
about 72 degrees. If you did not have your fish by 9:00 AM it was too late.
Clark Foster had the only limit of 12.36 pounds for first place. Clark
also had big fish of 4.25 pounds. Clark caught his fish in Discovery bay,
way back up in the creek. Rattle traps in the morning, zipper after noon.
Delta Dave Glover had 4 fish for 6.30 pounds and took second place. Dave
was fishing Senkos in front of tules with deep water and no weeds in the
San Joaquin. Eddie King had 3 fish for 4.83 pounds and took third place.
Eddie was fishing with Dave.
Of the 14 fishermen there was only one limit. Totals were 41.86 pounds,
22 bass with an average weight per man of 2.99 pounds and an average of
1.57 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.90 pounds.

The annual Tournament Of Champions was held at clear lake on September
30. The weather was great, and even the fishing was good for some. This
year it was a team toumament. Don Welch and Brian Wierzbicki had 6 bass
for 15.62 pounds and took first place. Don and Brian also had big fish
of 5.04 pounds. They caught their fish on Senkos on Long Tule Point. Bill
Zeigler and John Lake had 4 bass for 10.65 pounds and took second place.
They fished Rodman. Darrell Allen and Eddie King had 3 bass for 9.13 pounds
and took third place. Congratulations guys.

This was our ninth toumament of the year. Nice weather, windy on Saturday
but nicer on Sunday. Water temperature was about 74 degrees. A lot of small
spots. To catch a keeper, you might need to catch a dozen dinks first.
But it sure is a pretty lake and even the dinks are fun. Better than fishing
all day for one bite.
Brian Wierzbicki had limits both days for 12.15 pounds for first place.
Brian caught his fish on a white spinnerbait about 10 miles up the Pit
river arm. Bill Zeigler had 8 fish for 12.15 pounds and took second place.
Bill was also fishing spinnerbaits in the same general area as Brian. Bill
also had big fish on Saturday of 2.29 pounds and again on Sunday with 2.14
pounds. Chuck Peak had 8 fish for 8.00 pounds and took third place. Chuck
was fishing the Pit river arm just past the no ski area. Chuck was using
a salt and pepper grubs.
Of the 12 fishermen there were 4 limits. Totals were 57.65 pounds, 45
bass with an average weight per man of 4.8 pounds and an average of 3.75
fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.28 pounds.

This was our eighth tournament of the year. Windy until about 3:00 AM.
Air temperature about 90 during the day but cool enough for a jacket by
1:00 AM. Water temperature was about 80 degrees. Fishing was tough, only
four limits. Good average size though. Longest six hours that I can remember.
There is a fine line between "sport" and "mental Illness".
Clark Foster had 5 fish for 14.86 pounds for first place. Tim Gomes
had 5 fish for 14.24 pounds and took second place. Tim caught his fish
on a white spinnerbait near Konocti. Don Welch had 5 fish for 12.56 pounds
and took third place. Don was also fishing a spinnerbait. Bill Lee caught
the big fish of 6.07 pounds on a 10 inch black Power Worm on Fraser point.
Javier Martinez had car trouble Saturday morning on the way up and missed
the tournament.
Of the 13 fishermen there were 4 limits. Totals were 103.86 pounds,
33 bass with an average weight per man of 7.99 pounds and an average of
2.54 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 3.15 pounds.

This was our seventh toumament of the year. Nice weather. Well,
maybe a bit warm. Air temperature about 98 during the day but cool enough
for a jacket by 5 AM. Water temperature was about 74 degrees. Fishing was
tough, only one limit was caught and four people blanked. The two new people,
fishing as guests, both finished in the money. CJ wanted to get off to
a good start as a new member and so did not catch a fish. Tracy is on another
hot streak. Chuck and Dave, Bill and Bob, were fishing an ABA in the delta;
don't ask.
Ron Hunnewell had 5 fish for 11.70 pounds for first place. Ron also
had big fish of 4.21 pounds. Good job Ron! Not a bad start. Ron was fishing
Big Creek using a Bagley Double B fishing rocky points. Don Welch had 3
fish for 6.26 pounds and took second place. Don was fishing in Woods Creek
using 7 inch black Power worms. Javier Martinez had 3 fish for 5.34 pounds
and took third place. Javier was fishing worms, a Carolina rig, and a glow
in the dark spinner bait. Looks like we might have something to leam from
the new guys.
Of the 13 fishermen there was only 1 limit. Totals were 40.92 pounds,
23 bass with an average weight per man of 3.15 pounds and an average of
1.77 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.78 pounds.

We came in 2nd place with 80.67 lbs for the Silicon Valley Sticks Team.
Several club members got together and fished Top 6 at Clear Lake. It was
not a club event. Turn out was small with only 6 teams competing. The team
finished second with a combined weight of 80.67 pounds, missing first place
by only 2.90 pounds. Congratulations guys - S.V. Sticks!

This was our sixth tournament of the year. Nice weather. Just enough
breeze to cool it off a bit. The water very clear with 15 feet of visibility
in the north end. Water temperature was about 72 degrees. Fishing was tough,
the spawn mostly over, a lot of cruising fish, very clear water.
Chuck Peak had 5 fish on Saturday for 14.59 pounds and 4 fish on Sunday
for 6.37 pounds, a 20.96 pound total for first place. Chuck was fishing
a Senko on a slack line where there were floating plants near Lakeport.
Dave Glover had 4 fish for 8.83 pounds on Saturday and 3 fish for 9.83
pounds on Sunday for a total of 18.68 pounds and second place. Dave was
also fishing a Senko near Lakeport on Saturday but fished the south end
near Redbud on Sunday. Jeff Wilson had 1 fish for 3.04 pounds on Saturday
and 4 fish for 9.85 pounds on Sunday for a total of 12.89 pounds. Jeff
was fishing a jig near Konocti. Bob Nathan had big fish on Saturday of
6.14 pounds. It's also the big fish for the year. Bob caught the fish on
a Senko. Steve Yee had big fish on Sunday of 5.64 pounds. Steve caught
his big fish in 20 feet of water with a 3/8 oz black & blue jig.
Of the 17 fishermen there were only 2 limits. Totals were 152.75 pounds,
63 bass with an average weight per man of 8.99 pounds and an average of
3.71 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 2.42 pounds. Only
one dead fish this time.

This was our fifth toumament of the year. Nice weather, if you just
got back from Death Valley. Hot, hot, hot. The water fairly clear with
4-5 feet of visibility. Water temperature was about 67 degrees. Most of
the day was an outgoing tide. Whoops, that was the Delta. This was Santa
Margarita and fish were smaller than usual for this lake. Should have been
there last week.
Bill Zeigler had 4 fish for 7.77 pounds and took first place. Bill fished
a spinner bait and caught his fish in the morning. Darrell Allen had 3
fish for 6.94 pounds and took second place. Darrell fisher a cove on the
main lake using a Brush Hog. Eddie King had3 fish for 6.94 pounds and took
third place. Eddie was using his favorite Clear Lake worm. Tim Gomes had
big fish of 3.68 pounds. Tim caught the fish on a Wiggle Wart. Tracy Ellsworth
broke his slump and caught a 3.3 pound largemouth. Kick butt Tracy!
Of the 13 fishermen there were no limits. Totals were 45.68 pounds,
21 bass with an average weight per man of 3.51 pounds and an average of
1.62 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 2.18 pounds. Unfortunately
there were several dead fish. Time to put live wells on continuous and
add some chemicals.

This was our fourth tournament of the year. Nice weather farthest time
of the year, a little wind but no rain. The water fairly clear for
the delta with 1-2 feet of visibility. Water temperature was 62-68 degrees.
Most of the day was an outgoing tide.
Dave Glover had 5 fish for 10.87 pounds and took first place. Dave fished
several places including Franks Tract, Fishermans Cut, and the San Joaquin.
Dave caught fish on Spinner Baits and on plastics. Clark Foster had 5 fish
for 10.71 pounds and took second place. Clark fisher Discovery Bay using
a flipping tube. Jeff Haskins had 5 fish for 10.29 pounds and took third
place. Jeff was also fishing Discovery Bay throwing crank baits. Bob Greneveld
had big fish of 5.53 pounds.
Our new members did well. Randy Johnson caught his first Delta Bass
and his first Delta duck.
Of the 18 fishermen there were five limits. Totals were 104.74 pounds,
50 bass with an average weight per man of 5.82 pounds and an average of
2.78 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 2.09 pounds.

This was our third tournament of the year. Beautiful weather, a few
clouds but no rain. The water was very muddy in the creek arms but fairly
clear with 2 feet of visibility in the center of the lake and way up in
the creek arms. Almost all of the fish caught were in the middle section
of the lake. Water temperature was 55- 58 degrees. Nice to have decent
weather for a change. Now, if the fish would just cooperate.
Chuck Peak had 5 fish for 10.88 pounds and took first place. Chuck
also had big fish at 3.31 pounds. Chuck caught all of his fish with a split
shot junebug six inch straight tail worm within 400 yards of the ramp.
Fish were in 6-8 feet in the morning and in 15-20 feet in the afternoon.
Bill Zeigler had 2 fish for 5.26 pounds and took second place. Bill
was also fishing the center section of the lake but with a rattle trap.
Darrell Allen had 2 fish for 4.26 pounds and took third place. Darrell
got his fish late in the day on the face of the dam.
Of the 14 fishermen there was only one limit. Totals were 36.65 pounds,
19 bass with an average weight per man of 2.62 pounds and an average of
1.36 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.93 pounds.

10.88 lbs, big fish 3.31 lbs.

This was our second tournament of the year. Beautiful weather, a few
clouds but no rain and almost no fog. The water was very muddy but fairly
warm for this time of the year at 56-58 degrees. Visibility about 5 inches.
There was a full moon just before the tournament.
John Lake had 2 fish for 6.10 pounds and took first place. John also
had big fish at 3.80 pounds. John caught his fish flipping a reaper. Steve
Yee had 2 fish for 5.24 pounds and took second place. Steve was fishing
the edge of the drop off in front of Ladds in about 20-30 feet of water.
Eddie King had 1 fish for 2.80 pounds and took third place.
Of the 17 fishermen there were only no limits. Totals were 21.94 pounds,
9 bass with an average weight per man of 1.29 pounds and an average of
0.53 fish for each angler. The average fish size was 2.44 pounds.

This was our first tournament of the year. Not too great but a few fish
were caught. It is winter time and we can't expect great results. It was
foggy until about 11:00 AM. Water temperature was about 51 degrees. Visibility
about 5 feet. There was a full moon just before the tournament.
Bill Zeigler had 2 fish for 3.86 pounds and took first place. Bill caught
his fish on a rattle trap early in the day. Darrell Allen had 2 fish for
3.64 pounds and took second place. Robert Ramirez had 2 fish for 3.40 pounds
and took third place. Wade Kastorff had big fish of 2.78 pounds. Don Welch
caught a nice 7 pound cat fish. Sorry Don, wrong toumament. Steve Yee did
not catch a Salmon.
Of the 12 fishermen there were only no limits. Six boats fished so we
had an even mix of boaters and non boaters. Totals were 17.06 pounds, 9
bass with an average weight per man of 1.42 pounds and an average of 0.75
fish for each angler. The average fish size was 1.90 pounds. 0 Spots, 5
Largemouth, and 4 Smallmouth.
